How To Install WordPress And Divi In Cloudways

Today I’m going to show you how to install WordPress and Divi using Cloudways Hosting.

You may be wondering why Cloudways? For me, I found it easy to set up and affordable, no matter if you are a start-up business, a freelancer or an established business.

Let’s start by clicking on the “START FREE” button on the upper right of your screen.

Complete the form with your complete name, email, and highly secured password, then click “START FREE”.

Then you will be redirected to a page where Cloudways will need some verification to activate your account.

‍

Open your email with the one you used on the sign up page.

You will receive an email similar to this and you may need to verify your identity by replying to their email with any of the methods from their list.

Once you have completed their requirements, you may need to wait for their email with a button with the label “Activate Account”. Click on it and you will be redirected to your Cloudways dashboard.

In “Application $ Server Details,” choose what type of application that you want to use, but in this demo we will use WordPress.

Give your Application, Server, and Project a name.

Next, you may choose which data center that you want to use. But in this demo we will use DigitalOcean.

Then choose your server size (for starters, 2 Gigabytes is sufficient unless you have a high traffic website), and finally your server location.

And when everything is good, you may now click on the “Launch Now” button.

We have to wait while Cloudways prepares your server.

Next, once your server is ready, click on the toggle button to switch to the applications page and click on the WordPress application.

‍

Next, we need to install Divi. Elegant Themes have 2 options: either a yearly subscription or a one-time payment for lifetime access, and both of them have an unlimited website usage feature.

Go to “elegantthemes.com” and click the pricing button.

Create your account and complete the registration process.

Once you have your account ready, go to the “My downloads” page and click “Download The Divi Theme” to save it to your computer.

Next, go to Account, then navigate to Username & API Key.

‍

Click “Generate New API Key” and name it anything you like. Next, copy your username and API key and paste them in Notepad.

‍

Next, go back to your Cloudways WordPress application and launch your WordPress site. Use the username and password under the Admin Panel.

Then go to Appearance, then Themes.

‍

Click “Add New” then “Upload Themes.” Browse to the Divi file that you saved on your computer, then install.

‍

Activate the Divi theme.

‍

Next, go to Divi, Theme Options, and navigate to the Updates tab. Paste the username and API key that you have pasted in Notepad and click Save Changes.

That’s it. You have installed the Divi theme on Cloudways.
